I was born in Leeds, England in the early 60's, I have a few memories of the sixties not least knocking on my neighbours door and singing "Yummy Yummy Yummy, I've got love in my tummy"!!! Also years later I realised that some mods that used to congregate in the local park were really "MODS", some how I forgot that they were the real macoy and not some second wave!
I moved to a town called Rushden in Northamptonshire when I was 6 and never really settled until I reached my early thirties with stints in Stone, Staffordshire, Bedford and London
Then in 1994 I ended up in Spalding, Lincolnshire and that's where I stayed!
I had always been a keen listener of music but as I reached my late teens, it became a passion and I joined local bands and started to learn to play the guitar. I was in a number of bands but most notably "The Aubergines", an indie band somewhere between the Velvet Underground and Orange Juice, "Pig Out", a band that I wrote all the material for and sang for, which were described as a cross between Talking Heads and King Crimson! and "Mecca" a band that were definitely left of centre, went down exceptionally well in Russia but rather abysmally in England! We were just around a few years too early (or late depending on how you look at it), as it was the early 90's and guitar music was definitely at it's lowest ebb. Still we produced two CDs of original material, which I am very proud of.
A number of children and family commitments later and I have changed my tack to web development and design, I still play the guitar most days but just to myself, I'm afraid, I still miss playing live but hey there are other things to do and you can keep playing 'til you drop!
I learnt to develop websites when I took time off work to become a full time "house husband" in 1999, looking after my youngest child, I used this time to re-train and the web was just starting to really make a difference in the world, so I thought it was a good area to explore. I loved it and all the new technology and software that went with it.
I now develop websites, produce graphic design projects, teach ICT and web design in local schools and occassionally teach guitar, if I have the time! Besides bringing up 3 kids....with the help of my beautiful wife of course :-)
